Mr. Diazalde Pires Dos Santos (Executive Director Commercial & Investments)
A graduate of Economics from University of Coimbra – Portugal and also holds a certificate course in Diplomacy from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rio Branco Institute – Brasilia, Brazil.
Mr. Djazalde is a seasoned professional with experience in various roles in government representation and diplomatic administration.
Prior to his appointment as an Executive Director, he was the Chargé d’Affaires/ Deputy Permanent Representative (DPR) Permanent Mission of São Tomé and Príncipe to the United Nations in New York (from 2024-2026). He also served as Chargé d’Affaires a.i with the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe in Abuja, Nigeria (from 2019-2024). From 2017 to 2019, Mr. Djazalde took on the role of 2nd Secretary, Desk Officer Multilateral Department, International Cooperation Office, Focal Point-Macau Forum and 2nd Secretary, Acting Director of the Ministers Office. His role included Minister’s Assistant, Desk Officer-Middle East and Asia, Ministry representative on the National Committee for Climate Change, National Correspondent for Francophonie, both under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Communities.
Mr. Djazalde also served as Interim Coordinator of the UCA (Aid Coordination Unit) with the Directorate of International Cooperation, Ministry of Economy and International Cooperation and Directorate of Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities (Middle East and Asia, from 2013-2014).
Mr. Djazalde is married with children.
