Mr. Jorge Correia (Executive Director Non-Hydrocarbon Resources Department)

Mr. Jorge is a graduate of Business Administration and Management, with extensive experience in administrative and operational roles within the private and public sectors.

He served in the Non-Hydrocarbon Resources (NHR) Department of the Nigeria-Sao Tome & Principe Joint Development Authority (JDA), Abuja from 2007, until his appointment as the Executive Director of the NHR department in 2026. He handled key responsibilities related to the overall administration and management of non-hydrocarbon resources projects and initiatives, including other assigned operational duties across departments.

During the period, he gained extensive expertise in the blue economy sector and the oil and gas industries, with focus on economic strategy, sustainable development and resource management.  He is a strong negotiator, fostering collaborative partnerships, facilitating cross-border initiatives and successfully bridging interests that align with national and regional development goals.

Prior to joining the JDA, Mr. Correia served in the hospitality sector in his native country, Democratic Republic of Sao-Tome & Principe (DRSTP) from 1996-2007, where he gained mastery of public and strategic communication, cultural awareness and leadership.

Mr. Correia is married with children.
